After long time, deleting of comment spam started to piss me off. When you monthly receive about 50 comments and 96% are comment spam, it starts to get a little bit annoying to delete it.
The same thing is with email spam… Annoying, annoying and waste of time. I know I cannot avoid spam completely, it will find me everywhere. Due this fact I took necessary steps.
- removed the contact form, there are plenty of ways how to contact me
- installed anti-spam WordPress plug-in
After I spent few hours searching for something that will satisfy my needs and will be most of the time successful, I found it.
The plug-in/software call it whatever you want carries an beautiful and „easily“ rememberable name. All hail to Akismet!
Installation is very easy. Without any stupid questions ca be described in 4 steps.
- Download Akismet
- Get WordPress API Key
- Activate plugin
- Live spamless life again!
Since the day I installed Akismet it caught about 15 spams and more numbers will be counting…
